Sunday, 03 June 2012 17:21

The Marina won a day in advance the gold European, just a few days after winning the Italian Championship.

On the J24 European Championship 2012 stands the tricolor flag. The Italians of the Centro Velico della Marina Militare offer the prestigious Trophy, to the J24 Italian Class for the 2012. Already yesterday, the boys of La Superba, led by Ignazio Bonanno, had the title in their pockets. The canceling of the worst result made them unassailable by any other team in contention for the podium. The last of the nine races on the program, started at 12 today at the race course in front of the Gulf of Arzachena, and has served to define the rest of the league.

Doubles title for the Marina that a few days ago, always in the waters of Cannigione, have conquered the highest Italian title for the J24 Class. For La Superba today it was just an easy walk. On board, besides the helmsman Bonanno, Francesco Linares committed to the halyards, into the role of tailor Simone Scontrino, in that of tactical Massimo Gherarducci and Branciforte Alfredo at the bow.

Silver medal to the Germans led by Kai Mares of the Rotoman Blankeneser Segel Club Rotoman, while the third step of the podium carries the colors of Sardinia and the Club Nautico Arzachena through the team Vigne Surrau. With Aurelio Bini at the helm, Evero Niccolini at the tactics, halyards to Danilo Deiana, Pietro Alvisa central Sandro Piredda at the bow and Laura Bow as jolly, the crew confirmed the location of yesterday and withdrew his well-deserved bronze.

"We fought a lot. The lack of wind and numerous jumps have made it difficult race," said Aurelio Bini, helmsman of the boat-bearer of the Organizing club "We started well and then we focused immediately on the right of the field. At the windward mark we turned tenths, but our goal was to control the opponents of Hungriger Wolf of Johann Petes Huhn and we did until the end.” Peter Diamond on Jamaica deserves the fourth place at the finish in front of the Greek Dimitrios Atsiadis.

This concluded the tenth day of racing organized by the Club Nautico Arzachena and supported by the Regione Autonoma della Sardegna, the Provincia Olbia Tempio, the Comune di Arzachena and numerous sponsors and local businesses.
